New School Year!!! New ways to Integrate

This is my first post of the 2013-2014 school year. Ive been so busy with my new career and my new move to a different state (everything is big in Texas). In the past few weeks, there has been quite a few technologies introduced to the world.

But I want to start my first post off by introducing PLN! I recently read an article regarding  why teachers should create Personal Learning Networks. The article talked about how important it was for educators to have a PLN. This acronym is fairly new but like all things the concept is not.  Basically a PLN is a network of learning tools that teachers develop that they can learn and share from. Now, this network does not have to big and it does not require a lot of work to setup. Educators can create a PLN by choosing several useful web 2.0 tools that are tailored towards their learning goals and make connections. Educators should keep up with these tools and create folder of resources you find useful. Once you find the resources begin sharing them with your colleagues and allow them to share your resources with others they are connected with.
Now in other words, this network is just a virtual file cabinet of useful resources that are tailored to your needs that you can learn from and share with others.
A few examples of PLNs: creating a twitter account and following  #edchat,  subscribing to technology integration blogs, connecting with colleagues that are sharing resources, subscribing to techcrunch, subscribing to tech and learning magazine, and viewing webinars.

Stay tuned to next week on more in depth ways to create PLN.....

I LOVE educating teachers!  I love having the ability to help teachers reach that pivotal moment in their lesson by integrating technology into the classroom. I love how I can help teachers make technology meaningful in their classrooms.
YOU CAN BE A TECHNO EDUCATOR ALSO!!  A Techno Educator is someone who is excited about technology, who does not fear technology, likes to solve software problems, likes to teach with technology, and is a 21st century learner.
